Fit For Fall Challenge and My Pregnancy Weight Loss

I did a Tone it up challenge to lose my pregnancy weight. They do what is called a Bikini Series every May that is 8 weeks long and it was seriously so much fun and the most motivated I have ever been to eat healthy and exercise everyday! I got to a lower weight than I was before I got pregnant and felt better than I ever have. Here is a little shot of my before and after from those 8 weeks:

After
Before

After the results I achieved it was a super easy decision to make when they announced the Tone it up 31 day challenge. I started Monday of this week instead of on the first of October when the actual challenge starts because I will be on vacation the last week of the challenge and I want to make sure I get the best results that I can! During the 8 weeks I allowed myself to have sugar once a week, that was usually on Sunday. For this 31 day challenge I am not going to do any sugar since it is a much shorter time frame and I always feel so much better when I don't eat it.

If you are looking for a super fun way to lose weight or just eat healthier with a ton of support from the Tone It Up community, you have to join the 31 day challenge! I signed up for the nutrition plan because you get all past and future updates included, it is an amazing deal! Even when I'm not doing one of the group challenges I have been following some of the nutrition plan and using it to make healthy meals for my family. However, you do not have to pay for the nutrition plan to be apart of the challenge, they post daily workouts on their website and daily motivation on their Instagram and that is all completely free.

If I could offer one piece of advice on how to be successful with your weight loss and nutrition goals it would be to write everything down! Journaling what I eat everyday, including how much water and what workouts I do, is seriously the most important factor in my success. Tone It Up offers this super cute journal on their website.

I will  keep everyone updated on my results for this challenge. I am super excited to push myself even harder than last time!

DIY Farmhouse Wreaths

-Brooke here-

I thought it would be fun to show a few of my latest DIY projects! I have been really into making things with a farmhouse vibe lately. (Joanna Gaines anyone?!) I think everyone wishes they could just move to Waco, Texas and let Chip and Joanna make their home the perfect farmhouse, I know I do.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and had to try making it.

The below items are all you need. First up, some burlap ribbon (I found this at Hobby Lobby for a great price). Second, a boxwood wreath. I have seen some DIY Boxwood wreaths but I decided to buy mine. (I found this one at Target). Last, you need a wood frame of your choosing. I found this one at Hobby Lobby for around $20.00).

Hot-glue the burlap together in a loop around the frame:

This is the finished product! I haven't found a home for it yet but I am thinking of putting it on my entry table.

This second project was a little girls' night activity we found on Pinterest as well.

It was super simple! All we did was buy the leaves on vines at Hobby Lobby (on sale for $10.00). We pulled them all off the vines and just started hot gluing them to these circle wreath starters, also found at Hobby Lobby. All of our wreaths ended up looking different! It was super fun to just be creative and make it look exactly how we wanted.

For now mine is in my mudroom, I love the touch of green!

Not Becky-Current Cravings

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

It was love at first sight when I saw this shirt on Nordstrom's website. If you haven't been living under a rock for the past year then you know that Beyonce released a new album (Lemonade) this year that calls out someone named "Becky" as someone who cheated with her husband. Because its Beyonce, "Becky" quickly became a trend on social media with people posting #notbecky on their Instagram pics. Since I love all things Beyonce, I love this shirt. Pair it with a flannel button down and some torn jeans and you have the perfect casual look for fall. Enjoy!

Also, if you haven't seen this video of Beyonce performing at the VMAs, please enjoy now.

Can't Live without fashion fall favorites

I don't know about you guys but I am starting to transition my wardrobe into fall items. It is no secret to anyone that knows me, this is my all time favorite part of the year. I thought it would be fun to share the pieces I know without a doubt will be getting a lot of use this fall and winter season. I am not one to splurge much on more expensive clothing items unless I know for sure they will be a staple item or something I can pair with a lot of things in my closet. Everything in this post is for sure one of those things! Luckily I was able to score a few of them during the Nordstrom Sale and get out of paying full price.

Booties:

These Lucky booties were a huge seller in the Nordstrom Sale, I snatched them up early on because I knew they would sell out quickly, and I was right! They are some of the comfiest and cutest booties I have ever owned. I love them so much and plan to wear them a ton this fall!

Leggings:

I saw so many bloggers talking about how they couldn't live without these Zella Live In Leggings. I also grabbed these during the sale for about half price. They have lived up to the  hype! Most comfortable leggings of all time. They could be used as a workout legging but I have been using them as a standard legging with Tunics, sweaters and booties.

Sweater:

This sweater from Nordstrom rack is a favorite in my closet right now. it is oh so soft and goes perfectly with leggings or skinny jeans and boots. It is usually 128.00 but is marked down to 34.97. Who doesn't love a good deal!

Jeans:

Best Jean purchase EVER. I got these on sale for $40.00 regularly $70.00. Still not a bad price for good jeans. They are the softest most comfortable jean in my wardrobe. I love that the rips are just on the knee. I know I will be getting a lot of use from these babies. (These run small so I had to size up)

Friday Favorites

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5

Happy Friday Everyone! Can I just tell you that I'm so glad its September and fall is coming! To get you in the mood for cooler weather, better fashion, and all things pumpkin, we're sharing some of our fall favorites today. No. 1 is this Lace-up tee from Nordstrom. You all know Nordstrom is my favorite, and I've been seeing this type of shirt everywhere. The lace up trend is definitely big for the fall so stock up. The loose fit is so flattering too! No. 2 are these booties. When I don't want to spend a lot BP is definitely one of my go-to brands and these are on sale! No. 3 are these glass pumpkins from Pier 1. My mother in law works there and gets a killer discount so these are definitely on my list to add to my fall decor.  No. 4 is this pumpkin coconut candle from Bath and Body Works. This is my favorite scent for fall and makes the house smell so good! Buy it when they are having their 2 for $20 sale and you can get another yummy flavor to go with it.  Last but not least are the new Gen Nude glosses from Bare Minerals. I went to Sephora last week and tried a bunch of them and I want them all! They have over 60 colors so you can find the nude color that works for you!

Have a great weekend!

My Microblading experience!

I decided it was finally time to MicroBlade my eyebrows and I'm beyond happy that I did! My good friend Taylor did such an amazing job. She travels all over the place to do Microblading and has tons of experience! Microblading is a semi permanent tattoo that looks just like hair strokes. Once it heals up it looks super natural and lasts 1-3 years depending on your skin type and lifestyle.

This procedure has become so popular lately I thought it would be a good idea to share my experience on the blog for those who have been considering having it done themselves.

The artist that does your brows will help you choose the right color ink for your coloring and hair color. Once it goes on it looks pretty dark during the healing process but the color will lighten up after about a week, its just extra dark right after its done. I am so happy I don't have to deal with filling in my sparse brows for a year or more! The process is slightly uncomfortable but completely do-able and worth it! It kind of feels like a terrible tweezing experience where you can feel every last hair being yanked from your face. She was done in just over an hour.

I considered having them tattooed on but microblading was a better fit for me, I like that it isn't as permanent. Brow styles are changing so much that I really like that they wont be the same way forever.

These are my before and after photos. Just try to ignore my beastly before brows...they really needed some love.

I am so happy with the finished product. I am only on day 2 of the healing process so they are still sensitive and pretty dark. I am super excited to see how they look completely healed!

If you are interested in more information about having your brows done you can reach out to Taylor directly, she is so good at what she does!

Favorite kids book subscription

I thought it would be fun to share my favorite book subscription with you guys, "Bookroo". I have been getting this for Crew for the last couple of months. He is at such a cute stage where he is just in love with books and constantly wants people to read to him. It has been so convenient each month, it always comes at the perfect time when Crew is starting to get tired of his current books.

Each month they send the cutest package with all of the books wrapped up individually in super cute paper. They have a promo running right now BOOKROOLOVE for 10% off your 1st box!

hopefully this post was helpful if you have been looking into monthly book subscriptions!

Nursery Tour

- Danica here -

I thought it would be fun to do a post on Crew's nursery. I still feel like the room is a little unfinished as far as what I want to do with the decor but it works for now!
Crew LOVES animals so I have gone in that direction. I started out wanting a Nautical theme, hence the blue and white stripes and the dark blue crib skirt etc but now that he is starting to show personality and loves every animal there is I thought it would be cute to do his room with an animal theme.

Anyone else's babies grab the camera by the cord and throw it on the ground? I swear no matter how far I move his crib over he always finds a way to reach it!
