Friday Favorites: Halloween Style

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7

1. These Ghost Cookies: Are these not the cutest cookies you have seen? I love these cookies because I think most of us have a tulip shaped cookie cutter in our collection. The shape comes in most basic cookie cutter sets. And I honestly have never thought about turning the tulip over and making it into a ghost (I know...dumb right). But now that I know, these cookies are musts for next Halloween!

2. Pop Art Makeup: I have seen this look everywhere this year as I researched costumes. I think it looks so good and pretty easy. I think Sky and I will need to try it next year.

3. Target Halloween Items: Target had the most amazing Halloween decor this year. And PSA, run to your local Target November 1st because it will all be on sale for blowout prices. I bought tons of stuff there this year for my Halloween party. I'm always so surprised by how great Target is.

4. Monster Cookies: I made these cookies at the party this year and I still can't get over how great they looked and how yummy they tasted. If you are looking for a wow factor at your Halloween party, these will do it.

5. Baby Costumes: I'm convinced there is nothing cuter than a baby dressed in a fat animal costume. It doesn't matter what animal it is, if there are rolls on the costume and the baby, its cute. My poor future child will definitely be put in fat animal costumes.

6. Hocus Pocus: This movie is a classic. If you haven't watched it yet this season you need to get on it. It's not Halloween without Hocus Pocus.

7. Jack Skellington Chocolate Covered Apples: These apples look so amazing. I've never had great success with caramel apples but between these and the poison purple apples I have also seen on Pinterest, I think the time is right for me to try my hand at them again.

Outfit Details
Shirt: DownEast | Sweater: Forever21 (old), similar (here) | Bag: Michael Kors (old), similar (here)
| Bracelet: Ebay | Pants: Bohme (old), similar (here, here) | Boots: Aldo (old), similar (here, here)

I am in love with Downeast Basic's T shirts. They are perfect under anything! When I saw this striped one I had to have it! I found these coated denim pants at Bohme last year, they were a little out of my comfort zone but as soon as I put them on I loved them. They are so comfy and stretchy and surprisingly go with most things in my closet. Let's talk about these boots! They are the most comfortable boots ever! I love the wedge and the real leather smells oh so good. I highly recommend Aldo boots, they are amazing quality. You can find Aldo stores in most malls.

A Touch of Leather

Jacket: Piperlime (old), similarsimilar, similar | Shirt: H&M | Pants: Nordstrom | Boots: Lauren Conrad | Purse: Francesca's Closet (old), similar | Bracelets: Stella & Dot, JCrew Factory

I bought this jacket last winter at a blowout Piperlime winter sale. It was originally over $140 and I got it for $40. Although I've found that waiting for the end of season sales gets you your best bang for the buck, it is definitely hard to wait for those sales (especially when it means you have to wait a year to wear the item b/c of the season change). I'm loving this jacket this season though, and am so happy that moto jackets seem to be here to stay!

I took these pictures in my backyard! It's been so fun to be able to have horses right behind our house. We moved into our home in January, and the scenery from our back window is hard to beat!

Happy Tuesday!

Caramel Apple Bites

One of my first Pinterest success stories! The title is a little deceiving in the 'caramel' part. The 'caramel' is actually melted butterscotch chips. These are so yummy and sure to be a hit if you need a cute treat for a halloween party this week!

2 bags of butterscotch chips
Picks to serve them with
Granny Smith Apples (I used 6 and made 2 pans full)

1. Spray a pan with non-stick spray.
2. Melt the butterscotch chips in a bowl in the microwave. (We added a tiny drop of olive oil to make the consistency easier to work with.)
3. Scoop the apple bites out with a melon baller as pictured in pic #1.
4. Swirl the apple bite in the butterscotch, dip in sprinkles, and place on the pan to harden.
5. Enjoy the yumminess!

If you are a stickler for real caramel then you can freeze the apple bites after dipping them in chocolate, and then stick the chocolate covered apple bites in caramel. If you don't use the chocolate first then the caramel won't stick. (Hence the butterscotch substitute).

Friday Favorites

I am going to use today's Friday Favorites as a sounding board for opinions on some of the things I am trying to decide on for my house! Please give me your thoughts and opinions on what you think would look best!!

1. This is the style of sink I'm thinking for the kitchen. Do any of you have the apron front style? I have been debating between white or stainless steel as well, any opinions or experiences on either would be much appreciated!

2. I reallllly want to do wainscoting on my entry and family room walls. What do you guys think? This is also the paint color I am leaning towards. Once I get to the point that I need to make a paint color choice I will post a few color options and see what you guys think.

3. This is the way I'm leaning for the stair railings. I have been told I'm crazy for doing white because if I have kids they will be destroyed.. thoughts?

4. This is my main fireplace inspiration. I was thinking I would match the back-splash in the kitchen to the tile around the fireplace. And then the wood molding look to tie in the wainscoting on the walls. Is it too much white? I think I'm going for a blank canvas, that way I can bring in the color with the decor. It is still early enough to change my mind though!

Please comment below and let me know what you think of my ideas. I am so open right now to any tips!
