The Only Crepes Recipe You Will Ever Need: Summer Edition

Crepe shells

  • 1½ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 1 cup half & half
  • ⅔ cup water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla

  • whipped cream
  • fresh fruit
  • caramel sauce or chocolate sauce (We didn't use this, but by all means if you want it a little sweeter, do it!)
*If you really feel like getting crazy..add some warmed up waffle syrup. I may or may not have tried this..AND it was delicious.
  1. Preheat a small-medium sized pan or nonstick skillet over medium heat and spray with cooking spray. Mix together all crepe ingredients with a hand mixer until very smooth.
  2. Pour ¼ cup batter onto the pan and immediately tilt the pan in a circular motion to spread the batter into a larger circle. Cook about 45-55 seconds, then flip and cook another 45-55 seconds. Transfer to a plate and put it in the fridge to chill. Repeat with remaining batter.
  3.  Top with whipped cream, sliced fruit, and caramel or chocolate sauce. Serve immediately.

Oh how I love summer and everything that comes with it. I found these babies on Pinterest, where else right? They are perfect for a hot summer night, and are a sort of healthy snack depending on how much sugar you put on top:) My husband and I loved this sweet fruity treat. ENJOY!

"Wifey" Shirt: Part 1 + Giveaway

Outfit Details

Blazer: American Eagle (old), similar | Shirt: Shirt Market | Jeans: Nordstrom (on sale) | Shoes: Nordstrom | Earrings: Bauble Bar | Bracelet: Stella and Dot | Sunglasses: Nordstrom (sold out) | Watch: Michael Kors | Lipstick: Mac (pink pearl pop)

Hey Everyone,

I've had my eye on a shirt similar to this for awhile now. I originally had found it on Ily Couture's website, but they want $46 for it, and I'm pretty sure I would pass out if I paid that much for a t-shirt. So I went to Etsy and discovered Shirt Market. This shirt is so comfy and high quality, and I like the V-neck so much better than Ily's scoop neck version. The best part is that this shirt is only 15.99... which is a lot easier to stomach than $46. The owners of Shirt Market are super quick to respond and awesome to work with. They are so awesome that they have agreed to give one of our readers a Wifey T-shirt of their own! The giveaway runs from today until Friday. Use the Rafflecopter below to get your entries! Good luck!

Jessica's Friday Favorites

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6

1) A homemade Twix candy. Let's be serious, this is most likely amazing. I've made the homemade almond joy bars from Pinterest, and this is next on the list.

2) These Bauble Bar earrings were on my list for awhile until I finally bought them this month during the 4th of July sales. They are gorgeous and you need them.

3) This foundation deserves a post all of its own (it might get one). It's super light weight, and goes on your skin like silk. Make sure and have someone test it on your skin before you buy it though. It goes on darker than it appears, and you will be a different shade than what you use on other Bare Mineral products.

4. Jennifer Lawrence. She's about to star in a movie based on this book with Bradley Cooper. That's really all I need to say about this book. But I'll keep talking. You need to read this because this book is a masterpiece. The title character is strong, ruthless, and crazy, and you will be thinking about her long after the book is done.

5. I'm currently in love with everything neutral. You give me white flowers and I'm yours. This room is so serene, and gorgeous, and peaceful, and definitely will be used as inspiration for my ongoing work decorating my home.

6. Y'all already know I love Z-Gallerie. So this obviously wouldn't be a favorite post without mentioning one of their products. (and no we don't get paid to advertise for them). These plates are going to be the perfect addition to my bbqs. Check them out.

P.S. Don't forget to check out my picks for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale which ends on August 4th!

Have an amazing weekend!

Gold and Pink Baby Shower Inspiration

Hi Everyone,

I'm hosting a baby shower for one of my good friends at work soon, and I really want it to be perfect. She is such a great person and friend. She and her husband tried for over 6 years to have a child, and I'm so happy that their dream is coming true! They are going to be amazing parents.

But anyways, she's having a baby girl. And frankly I can't think 'girl' without dreaming of gold, glitter, and pink. I've come up with the following plan for her baby shower. Can't wait to show y'all the finished product!

Circuit Training with the "Sugar Plum Runner"

Hey Everyone!

Today we are so excited to have Sharsti from the Sugar Plum Runner guest posting with us! She's one of those few people who is gorgeous, fit, creative, and an amazing mom. So it's obvious why I love getting fitness and home decor tips from her, and why I avidly follow her blog! Today she is sharing with us a killer cardio circuit workout! Enjoy!

Hi Brooke and Jane Readers!

My name is Sharsti and I'm the blogger behind the Sugar Plum Runner. I love writing about my workouts, recipes, recent DIY projects, and of course my family. I'm lucky enough to be a stay at home mom to my almost 3 year old Jackson and wife to my handsome hubby Josh.

I'm honored to be guest posting and can't wait to share with you a great workout that will kick your booty.  I promise you will want to kill me and thank me all at the same time after you complete this. Of course my first love is running, but I also love circuits so why not combine them?

If you have a treadmill great. You can set up your circuit at the gym, at home, or even outside. You'll need a 1 mile loop, weights or soup cans(whatever you have), and motivation to get it done! In this workout I've combined all of my favorite moves that work out multiple areas at the same time.

*I convinced my little sis to photograph me doing all the moves, as a result I'm laughing in most of them because nothing can be too serious with her(:

Start out with a 1 mile warm up jog

We have officially made Tuesdays our fashion day, so here is this week's outfit we are 'obsessed' with. I seriously LOVE this skirt, I can wear it to both of my jobs and church. I love wardrobe pieces that I can use for everyday wear, but then dress up for a night out. The top and bottom in these pictures are from Bohme. I am loving their clothes right now. Every time I go in the store I walk out with multiple things that I have to have and will wear constantly.

I hope you guys enjoy today's post!

I know most of you have probably seen the copycat Cafe Rio recipes all over Pinterest, and probably even tried them. But I bet you haven't seen this copycat of Bajio's Chicken Green Chile Salad. Well now you have. And we promise it's amazing.  We've also added a recipe for mango salsa because we are just that nice. Enjoy!
